Classes of Application

A. Permanent Residence Status

Permanent residents may live and work anywhere in the destination country and enjoy many of the privileges granted to citizens. To obtain permanent residence, a foreign national must apply for and receive a Permanent Resident Visa through one of the available migration pathways or programs.

B. Temporary Residence Status
Foreign nationals who wish to work, study, or visit temporarily must apply for temporary status. These visitors generally need a visitor visa unless they are citizens of visa-exempt countries. Those seeking temporary employment must also obtain work authorization, while those planning to study temporarily must obtain student authorization.
